Our spot is right at 27, Palika Bus Stand in the Navlakha area of Indore. Being at a bus stand means there is always something going on and it never really stays quiet. We’ve been working out of this small office for a good bit of time. Most of our day is spent talking to people who are in a hurry to get somewhere. Some want a car for a few days and others just need to know which bus is actually leaving on time. It is a bit dusty sometimes because of all the traffic outside, but that’s just how it is at Navlakha. We don't have any fancy brochures or a big marketing department. It is just us sitting at the desks, handling the paperwork and making sure the drivers know where they are going. We see a lot of regular faces, people who live nearby or work at the stand. We try to keep things simple. If someone needs a ride or a tour planned, we look at the options and tell them what is available. There are no big promises or polished speeches here. We just know the roads and the timings. Sometimes the phones ring all at once and it gets a bit chaotic, but we manage to sort it out. It’s honest work and we like being right in the middle of where all the travel happens.
