Pratik Wear

Pratik Wear is tucked away on the second floor of the Sindhi Market in Imli Bazar. The address is No. 145, and you have to climb a narrow set of stairs to get up to where we are. The market downstairs is always packed with people and carts, so getting in and out with bags can be a bit of a struggle. Once you get up to the second floor, it is a little bit quieter, but there is still plenty of noise. Our space is filled from floor to ceiling with plastic-wrapped packages of clothes ready to be moved. We do a lot of wholesale work, so we are often busy counting out dozens and tying them up with heavy string. It is a bit of an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it has always worked for us. The lighting is a bit dim in the hallways of the market, but we have bright tubes inside our space so we can see the colors clearly. We have been in Imli Bazar for a long time, and we know all the other shopkeepers around here. We share the daily news and complain about the summer heat together over tea. We do not have a website or anything like that; people usually just find us through word of mouth or by walking through the market. It is a cramped, busy place, but it is where we do our business. We spend the days answering questions and keeping the stock organized.
