S. H. Nasima

Our business, S. H. Nasima, is tucked away in the Kabutar Khana area of Nandlal Pura. If you are looking for us, we are right near the police chowki in Indore. It is a busy part of the Maharaja Tukoji Rao Holker Cloth Market, so there is always people carrying rolls of fabric or pushing carts past the door. The streets are narrow and usually filled with the sound of shouting and scooters. We have been in this spot for a long time. Inside, it is mostly shelves filled with whatever stock we have on hand that week. It gets dusty because of all the textiles, but we try to keep it tidy. Being near the police station means it is a fairly safe corner, even if it is loud. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too high and the market gets too hot. Most of our day is spent talking to regular customers who have been coming to this market for years. We do not have a website or a big sign, just our name and the work we do every day. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back on. It is just how things are here in the cloth market. We are just local people doing our bit in Indore, surrounded by stacks of cloth and the noise of the city traders.
