Jain Merchant

Jain Merchant is located at 113 Malhar Ganj. We are very close to the Jain Temple, which is the main landmark around here. In fact, we're so close you can hear the bells and see the people going for prayers all day long. It’s an old part of town with narrow streets that weren't really built for today's cars. Parking is always a bit of a headache, so most people just walk or come on their bikes. We have been in this same spot for a long time. The shop is small, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it's home to us. We sell things directly over the counter. There isn't a lot of space to move around once a few customers come in at once. We know most of the people who live nearby. It’s a tight community. We don't do much advertising. People just know we are here near the temple. Sometimes it gets very quiet in the afternoon when it’s hot outside. We just sit and wait for the evening rush when people are coming home. It’s a basic life, running a shop in Malhar Ganj. We keep things honest and try to help out where we can. There’s no big strategy behind what we do. We just open the shutters in the morning and close them at night. It’s been that way for years now, and we don't plan on changing it. Usually we have a bit of tea around four in the afternoon.
