Konark Metal Indsutries

Our shop is right in the middle of the bustle at 136 Shivaji Market. Being near the Nagar Nigam means there’s always traffic and people shouting, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years at Konark Metal Indsutries. We deal with metal, mostly raw stuff and some finished pieces. The shop isn't very large, and it’s packed floor to ceiling with stock. Sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what a customer wants right away, so we have to move a few heavy pipes or sheets around. It keeps us fit, I guess. We didn't start with much, just a small space and a love for the trade. Metal is a tough business because prices change all the time, and you have to be quick. We don't have a website that looks like a magazine. We just have our physical shop where people can come and see what they’re buying. Some of the neighbors have been here as long as we have. We share tea in the afternoons when things quiet down a little. It’s a bit of an old-school way of doing things, but it works for us. We don't use big words to describe our metal. It’s just iron or steel or whatever else is on the truck that morning. If you come by, you’ll probably hear the clanging of metal before you see the sign. It’s noisy, it’s dirty, but it’s our life.
