Hes Metal Works

You can find Hes Metal Works down in the lower ground floor of the Trade Centre. We are at Lg-62, which is at 18 South Tukoganj. It’s a bit of a maze down here with all the different shops, but we’ve been in this spot for a while. Being in the basement means we don't get much natural light, so we rely on the overhead lamps to see what we are doing. We do all sorts of metal work, from cutting to welding and shaping things. It’s noisy work, and the sound of hammers and grinders is constant throughout the day. We usually have bits of metal shavings on our clothes by the time we head home. The Trade Centre is a busy place, so there are always people walking past our door. We don't have a big showroom. Instead, our space is filled with tools, scrap metal, and whatever project we are currently finishing. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped, but we make it work. We are just a small crew who knows how to handle metal. We don't use any fancy computer systems; we mostly do things by hand or with the old machines we’ve had for years. People come to us when they need something sturdy made. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the lights go out. We've got a small kettle in the corner for tea, which is how we start every morning.
