Harikala Chemicals

Harikala Chemicals is located at 463 MG Road. We are very close to the Bala Ganpati Mandir, which means we hear the temple bells throughout the day. It’s actually a nice change from the usual city noise. The building we are in is quite old and has high ceilings, which helps keep it a bit cooler during the summer months. MG Road is always busy, so getting in and out can be a bit of a challenge if you’re driving. We operate from a few rooms that are packed with ledger books and samples. The paint is peeling a little in the corners, but we don't mind much as long as the work gets done. We handle various chemical orders and spend most of our time talking to vendors. It’s a family-style atmosphere where everyone knows each other’s business. We don't have a website or anything like that; people usually just find us by the address or by word of mouth in the local market. Lunch is usually a communal affair where we share whatever was brought from home. Sometimes we have to move boxes around to make space for a new shipment, which keeps us active. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, relying on regular customers and long-standing relationships. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and get on with the day’s tasks.
