Farmer Selling Amla

Out here at No. 56 Jaora Compound, things are pretty straightforward. We have been working with amla for a long time. The space is usually filled with the smell of the fruit. Depending on the time of year, we are either very busy or just keeping things tidy. There are crates stacked up in the corners. Some are empty and some are full. We spend a lot of the morning sorting through what comes in. It is messy work sometimes. Your hands get stained and the floor stays damp from the washing. People from the neighborhood stop by sometimes just to see what we have. The Jaora Compound area is always a bit crowded with vehicles and people moving stuff around. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk and some chairs where we sit to do the accounts. The sun hits the front of the building in the afternoon and it gets quite bright. We keep the doors open to let the air move through. My brother and a few cousins help out with the heavy lifting. We mostly just focus on getting the amla out to where it needs to go. There is no secret to it, just hard work and making sure the fruit is okay. We have some old scales that we use every day. They still work fine even though they look a bit worn. It is a simple life here in the compound.
