We’ve been working out of this spot in Lajpat Nagar for a while now. It’s on the second floor of Dayanand Colony, right at 173 C. Most days you’ll find us hunched over desks dealing with blueprints or talking to contractors on the phone. Architecture is a lot more than just drawing pretty pictures, though some people think that’s all we do. There is a lot of paperwork and back-and-forth involved in getting things built in Delhi. We handle projects here and also have roots in Indore, so things get pretty busy between the two places. It’s a small team at Design Plus Architecture Pvt. Ltd. We aren't a huge fancy firm with a glass lobby and expensive art. It’s just a practical office where the real work gets done. Sometimes the printers act up or the chai runs cold, but we keep at it. People come to us when they need a space designed that actually works for them. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just focus on the drawings and making sure the measurements are right so the builders don't get confused later on the site. It’s noisy in this part of town, but we’re used to the hustle. We take on various types of buildings, from houses to commercial spots. If you need to find us, just head up to the second floor. We’re usually there until late most evenings. It isn't always glamorous, but seeing a wall finally go up is a good feeling.
