Aks Garments

Aks Garments is tucked away on the first floor of the Shri Krishna Complex. If you know M.G. Road, you know how crowded it gets with all the shoppers and bikes everywhere. Our shop is at Number 186. You have to walk up the stairs, which can be a bit of a climb if you’re carrying bags, but it’s quieter once you get inside. We have racks filled with different things we’ve put together over the months. It’s not a massive space, but we make the most of it by stacking things up to the ceiling sometimes. The lighting is okay, though we added some extra bulbs last year to help people see the colors better. We see a lot of the same faces coming in from the neighborhood. It’s nice when someone remembers us from a few years back. Working on M.G. Road means there is never a dull moment. You can hear the horns honking all day long from the street below. We usually open up in the morning and stay until the market starts to wind down in the evening. There isn't a big team here, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If you need a specific size, we usually have to dig through the back piles. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s just how a real shop works when you’re busy. We don't have a fancy website or anything, just this physical spot in the complex.
