Our company is located in Kwakeithel Awang Thiyam Leikai, sharing a spot with the Green Foundation in Imphal West. We focus on Chak-Hao, which is our local black rice that everyone around here knows. It’s a special crop and growing it organically takes a lot of patience. We are a group of local growers who wanted to make sure this rice gets the respect it deserves. We don't use any of the modern chemicals on it because that would ruin the flavor and the health benefits. The company is basically just a way for us to stick together. Most days we are out in the mud, and then we come to the office to settle the accounts. It’s a plain office, nothing fancy to look at. We do our own quality checks to make sure every bag of rice is what we say it is. Sometimes the harvest is smaller than we hoped, but that’s just part of organic farming. We don't promise things we can't deliver. We just work hard and hope for good rain. We are proud of what we grow here in Manipur and we want to keep doing it the old-fashioned way.
