We are a group of farmers working together here in Sawombung. It’s mostly about the soil and the way we grow things without the harsh chemicals everyone uses now. My name is one of the many on the list at Haoronbam Kanta Meiteichingnungkhok. It is a long name for a place, but that is where our base is, right in the Maning Block area. We formed this company because it's hard to do everything alone when you are just a small farmer. We deal with organic crops, mostly focusing on what grows best in our local dirt. It’s a lot of manual work. Sometimes the weather doesn't help us much, but we keep going because this is what we know. Our office or meeting spot is at the address mentioned, though most days you will find us out in the fields rather than sitting behind a desk. We don't have a big fancy building or anything like that. It is just a collection of local people trying to get our produce out to markets where people care about how their food is grown. We handle the collection and the sorting ourselves. It keeps us busy through the seasons.
