Kha-Nongchup Pukkei Langei Organic Producer Company Limited

This company is based at Kwakeithel Awang Thiyam Leikai, sharing space with The Green Foundation. We are a bunch of farmers from the Kha-Nongchup side who wanted to do things differently. Growing organic isn't the fastest way to make money, but it feels better for the land we live on. We spend a lot of time checking on crops and making sure no one is sneakily using stuff they shouldn't be. It's a group effort really. Our name is a bit long, Kha-Nongchup Pukkei Langei, but it means something to us and our families. We do our own packing and sorting when the harvest comes in. The office is really just a place to keep the books and meet when the sun goes down. Most of the real work happens under the sun. We’ve had some tough years with the weather, but being a collective helps us stay afloat. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just talk to people and sell what we have. If you come by the address at Thiyam Leikai, you might see us sorting bags or just sitting around planning the next planting cycle. It is a very hands-on kind of business. We focus on the practical side of farming and try to keep the costs low for everyone involved in the group.
