Varalika Sarees

You have to go up to the first floor of the Gharondamaya building to find us. We are at 3-6-521 in Himayat Nagar. Being on the first floor means people don't always see us right away from the street, but we have our regulars who know the way. We focus mostly on sarees. The space is filled with stacks of them in different colors and materials. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but it’s quieter up here than down on the main road. We spend our days unpacking new stock and showing different pieces to whoever comes by. We’ve been in this building for quite a bit. It’s a sturdy old place. We don't use any fancy sales talk. We just show what we have and let people decide for themselves. Sometimes the lighting isn't perfect, but we try to make sure you can see the colors properly before you buy anything. It is just a small operation. We do all the heavy lifting ourselves. Himayat Nagar is a great place to be because there is always something happening outside. Inside, we just focus on the sarees. We have a few chairs for people to sit while they look through the collection. It’s not a fancy showroom, just a practical place where we do our business. We like the community here and seeing familiar faces every week. We try to keep things simple and honest with all of our customers who come up to see us.
