Uday Hair Saloon

Uday Hair Saloon is sitting in Upperpalli, Attapur. The shop number is 3. We are very close to Pillar No. 178, which most people use to find their way around this part of the city. It is a small shop, nothing too fancy or modern. Inside, we have two or three chairs, a wide mirror, and all our tools laid out on the counter where we can grab them quickly. Every morning starts with us opening the metal shutters and sweeping the front steps. The area is usually busy, so there is constant noise from the road and the metro work nearby. We get all kinds of people through the door. Some are college students from nearby, and others are just workers looking for a quick shave before they start their day. We do not have a front desk or anyone to check you in. You just walk in, find a spot on the bench, and wait your turn. Standing on our feet all day makes us tired, but it is steady work that we are used to doing. We use the same types of scissors and razors we have had for a long time. We know which of our customers like to talk about cricket and which ones want to sit in silence while we work. The cold water in the spray bottles feels good when the Hyderabad sun is beating down outside. It is just a small local barber shop where the neighbors come to get a trim.
