Hair Creations

Hair Creations sits in the Sitaram Baug-Mangalhat area of Hyderabad 500006. This is a hair salon but we don't like to call it anything too fancy. We just cut and style hair. People from the neighborhood come in for their regular trims. We have a couple of chairs and some old mirrors. It’s a place where people sit and talk while they wait. We hear all the local gossip here. It’s part of the job. The shop isn't huge. We have a few bottles of shampoo and some combs. That’s about it. We’ve been here in Mangalhat for a long time. The street outside can be quite dusty. We sweep the floor many times a day because of the hair and the dust. It’s hard work on your feet all day. But we like the people. Some of our customers have been coming since they were children. Now they bring their own kids. We don't have an appointment system or a computer. You just show up and wait your turn. Sometimes there's a wait and sometimes you get in right away. We just do a decent job so people come back. It’s a simple business. We aren't trying to change the world. Just trying to make people look a bit neater. The fans hum in the background and we usually have a small radio playing some music. It helps pass the time when it's slow. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day. It’s a friendly place.
