Swagat Hair Saloon

The street noise on Begum Bazar Road never really stops, and we are used to it by now. Being in Shop No.1 means we are right at the start of the action. The ATM next door always has a line of people, and sometimes they wander into Swagat Hair Saloon just to ask for change or to see what time it is. We have been in Chudi Bazar for a good while. The shop isn't anything special to look at, just a few old chairs and mirrors that have seen better days. We spend our mornings sweeping up the hair from the day before and getting the spray bottles ready. Hyderabad can get very dusty and hot, so we keep the fan running at full speed all day. It’s a small place, but it works for us. Most of our customers are guys from the neighborhood who just want a quick trim or a shave before they go to work. We don't do anything fancy here, just the basic stuff. Sometimes we sit on the bench outside when it’s quiet and watch the bikes go by. It’s a busy life in a busy market, but it’s our life.
