Standard Glass & Alluminium Centre

The workshop for Standard Glass & Alluminium Centre is located at Door No. 3-8 in Nizampet. We are right in the Kukatpally area, which is always humming with activity. This place is usually a mess of aluminum offcuts and small shards of glass. We have to be very careful where we step. Working with glass is a bit of a nervous job because one slip and you have a big problem on your hands. We spend our time measuring, cutting, and fitting frames. The sound of the metal saw is really loud, so we don't talk much while the machines are running. There are large sheets of glass propped up against every wall, which makes the space feel even smaller than it is. Nizampet is growing fast, so there are always people coming in needing windows or doors for their new houses. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and displays. It is just a dusty floor and some heavy workbenches. My hands are usually covered in small cuts and aluminum dust by the time we close up. The sun beats down on the front of the shop in the afternoon, making it quite warm inside. We usually have a jug of water and some glasses on a side table for anyone who stops by. We just focus on getting the pieces cut to the right size and hope the delivery truck doesn't hit any big bumps on the way to the site.
