We are set up on the Narsingi Main Road, right at Survey No. 347. It’s easy to find because we are right beside the Down Town Dhaba. You can usually smell the dal and roti cooking next door while we are working. The shop is more like a large shed or warehouse. We have piles of wood and half-finished frames sitting around on the floor. Sawdust gets everywhere, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a very open space, so the wind blows through quite a bit. Being on the main road means there are always trucks and cars zooming past, so it’s never really quiet. We spend most of the day with tools in our hands, measuring and cutting. It’s heavy work, and our backs often ache by the time we close up. We don't have any air conditioning, just a couple of big industrial fans that move the air around. Sometimes customers stop by after eating at the dhaba just to see what we are making. We don't have a slick sales pitch or a fancy catalog. We just show them what’s on the floor or what we are working on at the moment. It’s a very straightforward business. We deal with the heat, the noise, and the wood every day. It’s a bit rough around the edges, much like the furniture before it’s been sanded down, but it’s an honest living in a busy part of Narsingi.
