At Gk Chairs, located at No. 23-2 Hari Bolli, we’re mostly surrounded by wood, plastic, and tools. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but it’s where we spend our lives. We’ve got chairs in various states of being finished or fixed up. Some are just frames waiting for seats, and others are old ones that someone brought in because a leg went wobbly. Hari Bolli is a busy little spot, and there's always noise from the street coming through the open front. We spend our mornings sanding down rough edges or tightening up screws. It’s dusty work, and there’s always sawdust in the air that settles on the finished pieces if we aren't careful. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything, people just know we’re here and they bring their furniture when it breaks. Sometimes we just sit on the stools in the back and have our lunch while looking at the piles of spare parts we’ve collected over the years. It’s a slow process sometimes, getting a chair to feel solid again, but we don’t like to rush it. We just keep working until the sun starts to go down and the street gets a bit quieter. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy enough to not worry about much else. We just make sure the chairs are sturdy before they go out the door and back to someone's house.
