Shubham Sarees Collection

Our shop is Shubham Sarees Collection and we are located at #21-7-673 on Ghansi Bazar Road. The road outside is always full of motorcycles and people pushing carts. We have a lot of heavy sarees and moving the big cardboard boxes they come in makes my back ache by the end of the week. We have one small stool for customers to sit on. Sometimes they stay for a very long time, looking at every single pile we pull down from the shelves. We don't mind it much because it’s just part of the job. There is a big mirror on the side wall that has a small crack in the bottom corner. We haven't bothered to fix it yet because it still works fine. We just keep going every day. During the monsoon season, the walls get a bit damp and we have to be very careful to keep the fabric away from the corners. It’s a lot of work for just a few of us to manage. We start the day by lighting a bit of incense to make the place smell better than the street outside. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that blow the air around. It’s a simple life running a saree shop in this part of town and we don't expect it to change.
