We have been here in Hyderabad for quite some time now, running this little setup. Dealing with cars and booking various trips is what we do every single day. Sometimes people call us late at night because they need to get to the airport or they have a family emergency in a distant city. It is always busy around here. We keep a few old registers on the desk to track where the drivers are and who is supposed to be coming back when. The traffic in the city is getting worse every year, so we spend a lot of time on the phone checking routes and seeing where the jams are. It is not just about driving people around, it is about knowing all the little shortcuts through the side streets. Most of our regulars are families who have used our vehicles for years. They know our faces and they usually ask for specific drivers they like. We don't have a big fancy office with glass walls, just a simple place to sit and talk about the travel plans. Sometimes we just sit and drink tea while looking at a map on the wall. It gets really hot in the summer, but we keep the fans going and keep moving. People ask for AC cars mostly these days. We try to keep the vehicles as clean as possible, though the dust in this city makes that a very difficult job. You see the same people every week and it feels like a community. If a driver is running a bit late, we hear about it right away on the mobile. That is just how the travel business works for us.
