Shibori

Shibori is tucked away over at Plot No. 1 in Ubi Colony. Being in Banjara Hills, you’d think things would be very fancy, but our place at House Number 8- 2- 261/1 is actually quite grounded. We spend most of our time dealing with fabrics and different designs. It gets a bit messy with all the materials lying around on the tables, but we know where everything is even when it looks like a disaster. The staff here has been together for a good bit, so we work well without needing to talk too much. Sometimes customers come in looking for something specific, and we do what we can to help them out from what’s on the shelves. The colony is usually quiet, which helps when we’re trying to focus on the finer details of the work. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Hyderabad or anything like that. We just enjoy the process of making things and seeing them go to good homes. There’s always a pile of samples that didn’t quite make the cut sitting in the corner, catching dust. It’s just how it goes when you’re working with your hands every day. We keep the doors open and try to stay on top of the schedule. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way because we can see every piece that leaves the door. If you ever find yourself in Ubi Colony, you might spot us.
