Saree

My shop, simply called Saree, is located right here in Kondapur. It’s a straightforward name because that is exactly what we have. I’ve lived in this area for a long time and decided to open this place to sell traditional wear. Kondapur has changed so much with all the new buildings, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We have stacks of sarees in different fabrics and colors. Some are simple cotton for daily use and others have a bit more work on them. I spend my days unfolding and folding fabric for the ladies who come in. It’s a lot of manual work but I don’t mind it. The shop is small and sometimes feels a bit cramped when we have more than three people inside. I don’t have a website or any of that stuff. People usually just find us by walking through the neighborhood. I try to keep the prices fair so my neighbors can afford them. It’s just me and one other person helping out. We keep the place clean and make sure the lighting is okay so you can see the colors properly. Sometimes we have tea and just chat with the customers about what’s happening in Kondapur. It’s a quiet life, mostly. We aren't a big boutique, just a local shop selling sarees to anyone who needs one for their daily life or a special day.
