Sandhya Designer Sarees

Our place is at Shop no 11-2-548/3/1 in Habeeb nagar. It is a busy part of Nampally and the noise outside never really stops during the day. The shop is quite small and we have filled almost every corner with sarees. My father used to say if there is an empty shelf, you aren't working hard enough, so we keep the stock packed in tight. Sometimes the ceiling fans overhead rattle a bit when they are on high speed. We spend most of our mornings folding things that got messed up or pulled out the day before. It is just me and one other guy here most of the time. We drink tea from the small stall around the corner twice a day to stay awake. The floor is old tile and it’s hard to keep the dust out because the door stays open to catch a breeze. People walk in and out all day long. Some just want to look and some want to see every single thing we have on the shelves. It gets tiring on the legs standing on this hard floor for ten hours. We don’t have a big fancy sign, just the name Sandhya Designer Sarees painted up there. We don't bother with ads or any of that. We just open up the shutters at ten and stay until the street gets quiet. The lighting inside is a bit yellow which makes colors look different than they do outside.
