Sai Baba Hair Saloon

You can find Sai Baba Hair Saloon over in the Petla Burj area of Hyderabad, specifically near Charmahal and right behind the Head Quarter. It’s an old part of the city, and our shop has been around for quite some time. The building is a bit aged, but it stays cool in the summer because of the thick walls. We have three chairs for customers and a big mirror that covers one whole wall. My brother and I run the shop together. We learned the trade from our uncle. Most of the people who come in are regulars who have been coming here for ten or twenty years. We know their families and what’s going on in their lives. It’s a friendly place, and there’s always someone sitting around just to chat, even if they don't need a haircut. We use the traditional methods for shaving, with the soap and the brush, which the older men still prefer. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud we have to shout to hear each other, but that’s just life in Hyderabad. We don’t have a website or any of that stuff. People just know we’re here. We open early in the morning and stay until the last customer leaves at night. It’s a simple business and it keeps us busy. We are just two brothers making a living in Petla Burj.
