Saheli Beauty Parloure

Our little parlour is located in Chudi Bazar, which is one of the most famous parts of Hyderabad. We are quite close to the Dargah, so there is always a lot of activity around us. The streets are narrow and filled with the sound of people buying bangles and clothes. Inside Saheli, it is mostly women from the neighborhood coming in for their regular things. We do threading, henna, and hair cutting. It’s not a very big space, but we make it work. Sometimes it gets quite cramped when three or four people are waiting. We have a couple of chairs and a curtain for privacy. The walls are painted a simple color and we have mirrors everywhere to make the room feel a bit larger. Since we are in 500012, we get a lot of regulars who have been coming to us for years. You can hear the calls from the Dargah and the street vendors outside while we work. It’s a very local vibe. We don’t use any fancy equipment, just the stuff that has worked for years. It’s a place where women can sit, chat for a few minutes, and get their work done. Living and working in Chudi Bazar means you are always in the middle of everything. It’s a busy, dusty, and loud area, but our parlour is a steady little spot in the middle of it all.
