Premier Ice Cream

Premier Ice Cream is based at Plot No. 39 in the EC Extension area, right near the ECIL X Road. That intersection is always a mess with traffic, so we hear a lot of honking throughout the day. Our workplace is basically one big refrigerated unit. Because we make ice cream, we have to keep the temperature very low. It feels strange to walk out of the building into the Hyderabad sun after being in the freezer all day. We have several large mixers and a packing line that takes up most of the floor space. The building itself is an older industrial plot. We don’t have a showroom or a place for customers to sit. It’s strictly a production spot. We spend a lot of time maintaining the compressors because if they fail, we lose everything. The guys who work here are used to the cold and usually wear sweaters even when it's forty degrees outside. We keep our records in a small room near the entrance that also doubles as a break area. There's always a stack of empty cartons waiting to be filled. We don't do any big advertising campaigns. The local distributors know where we are and they come to pick up their orders. Sometimes the water supply is a bit low, and we have to manage with what we have stored. It’s a straightforward business with plenty of daily challenges. We just focus on keeping the machines running and the product frozen.
