Pochampally Silks & Sarees

Walking into the New Marketing Complex on Tilak Road, you’ll find us right there in the middle of all the Abids madness. It’s a loud area, especially on weekends when everyone is out looking for something. We’ve been handling Pochampally silks and sarees here for quite some time now, and the shop is usually filled with the smell of new fabric and maybe a bit of dust from the street. The shelves are packed high, sometimes so high that we need the old wooden stool to reach the ones at the very top. It’s a small space for so many sarees, but we like having everything within reach. Usually, we start the day by dusting the counters and folding anything that got messed up the evening before. Abids has a certain energy that you don't find anywhere else in Hyderabad, and being in the Marketing Complex means we see all sorts of people. Some just come in to feel the silk and talk about the patterns, while others know exactly what they want and don't spend much time looking. We try to keep things simple here without any big displays or loud music. It’s mostly just us and the stock, trying to keep up with what people are asking for these days. The fans hum all day long to keep the air moving, and we usually have our lunch sitting in the back room among the boxes. It’s just regular daily life for us here on Tilak Road.
