Om Sai Beauty Parlor is right there in the mutton market area of Old Malakpet. It’s shop number 2, and we are quite close to Yashoda Hospital. Being near the market means there's always something going on outside. Lots of noise, people buying groceries, and the smell of the market. Our shop is a modest place. We do hair and basic beauty stuff for people living around here. It’s not a big salon with air conditioning that works all the time, but we keep it tidy. We have a few mirrors and the usual tools. Most women from the neighborhood come to us for threading or a simple haircut. We don't use expensive imported creams. Just the local brands that everyone knows. Sometimes the power goes out and we just wait it out with the customers. It’s a friendly vibe. We talk about the weather or the price of vegetables while we work. It’s been our spot for a long time now. People know us, and we know them. We aren't trying to be like those malls. Just a simple shop in a busy market. If you’re coming from the hospital side, it’s just a few minutes away. We stay open until the market starts winding down for the night. It’s hard work but we are used to the pace of Old Malakpet. We make sure the floor is swept and the brushes are clean. It’s just a small shop for regular people.
