New Indian Ice Creams

We have been here at Plot No. 45 on Road No. 2 in Vanasthalipuram for a while now. It is a quiet enough spot most days, though the traffic picks up in the evenings when people are heading home from work. New Indian Ice Creams isn't a very big place, just enough room for the freezers and a small stool for us to sit when there aren't many customers around. Usually, I get here early in the morning to check the temperatures and make sure everything stayed frozen through the night. The power in this part of the city sometimes acts up, so you really have to keep an eye on things constantly. Most of our neighbors stop by after they finish their dinner. It is nice to see the same faces every day and chat for a minute. We don't do much fancy stuff here, just the usual flavors that local people seem to like. The floor gets a bit sticky by five o'clock, so we usually have to mop it at least twice before closing. Sometimes my nephew comes over to help out when his school is closed for holidays. He likes to sit near the fan because it gets really hot in the back room where we keep the extra stock. Vanasthalipuram has changed a lot since we first started, with more shops opening up on this road, but we just keep doing what we do. It is a simple job, mostly just handing out cones and making sure the change is right.
