New Anand Hair Cutting Saloon is over in Gangaputra Colony, specifically at 1-6-174B/B in the Parsigutta area of Hyderabad. We are right beside Krishnaveni School, so during the mornings and afternoons, you can hear all the kids shouting and playing nearby. It makes the street feel very alive. Our shop is a simple place for men and boys to come get their hair trimmed. We have been in this spot for a good number of years. Inside, we have the typical barber chairs and the long mirrors that run along the wall. There is always a stack of old newspapers or some magazines lying around for people to read while they wait. We don't do anything fancy like styling for movies; it's just regular haircuts and shaves for the working men around here. The shop smells like talcum powder and aftershave most of the time. When the school lets out, sometimes parents bring their boys in for a quick trim before heading home. We have a small TV in the corner that’s usually on a news channel or showing a cricket match if one is playing. It’s a modest setup, nothing too special to look at, but it serves the neighborhood well. We start early in the morning and keep going until late, just trying to make a living and keeping the scissors moving.
