My Hair Saloon

My Hair Saloon is located in the middle of the chaos that is Begum Bazar in Hyderabad. We are at Door No 14-4-34, right near the Chatri in Muntanipura. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets with all the shops and people buying things. Our shop is just a small slice of that. We mostly handle men's haircuts and beard trims. It is a fast-paced place because everyone is in a hurry to get back to their business. We have old-fashioned barber chairs and a big radio that plays local songs all day. The floor is always covered in hair because we do not always have time to sweep between every customer. It gets very loud outside with the horns and shouting, so we have to talk quite loud inside too. We have been in this spot in Hyderabad - 500012 for many years. My father worked here before me. Nothing much has changed since then. We use the same kind of razors and the same combs. It isn’t a place for anything fancy, just a regular cut for a regular price. We see all kinds of people, from merchants to laborers. Everyone is treated the same when they sit in the chair. It is hard work being on your feet all day, but we are used to it by now. We just keep the water running and the scissors moving.
