Metro Beauty & Bridal Studio

You can find us on the first floor of H.No 1-2-7/A&B over on Gagan Mahal Road. Being on the first floor means people have to walk up the stairs, but it gets us away from the direct noise and dust of the street level. We are right beside Sadhuram Eye Hospital, so there are always people coming and going in this part of Himayat Nagar. The studio is a mix of different areas for different things. Since we do bridal work, there are often bags of outfits or jewelry boxes sitting around in the back room. The mirrors are large and take up most of one wall. We spend a lot of time organizing the combs and the makeup kits. It stays fairly busy, especially during the wedding months when things feel a bit more rushed than usual. Outside the window, you can see the tops of the trees and the traffic moving toward the hospital entrance. The tea stall downstairs brings up cups for us in the afternoon when we need a break. It is a working space, so it is rarely perfectly tidy. There is always a smell of hairspray or some kind of cream in the air. We have some chairs for waiting, but they usually stay filled with bags or folded towels. It’s just a local spot where people come to get ready. We usually have a few fans going to keep the air moving when the room gets full.
