Menika Beauty Parlour

Menika Beauty Parlour is situated between Lakdi Ka Pool and Khairatabad in Hyderabad. It’s a central spot, so we get people coming in from both sides of the city. This area is always crowded with buses and cars, so it’s never really quiet. We’ve been operating here for a while now. The shop is just a regular room with the usual equipment. We don't have fancy decorations or expensive art hanging on the walls. It’s just a place where women come to get their hair done or get a facial. We talk a lot while we work. It’s the best part of the job, hearing all the gossip and stories from around the city. Hyderabad is a big place, but our little shop feels small and friendly. We don't use a lot of high-tech gadgets or expensive machinery. Most of what we do is by hand, the old-fashioned way. The floor gets dusty from the street outside, so we’re always sweeping up. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the daily routine. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink coffee, other days we don't even have time to sit down for lunch. That’s how it goes when you run your own place. If you’re around Lakdi Ka Pool, you can find us pretty easily. We’ve become a bit of a fixture in this neighborhood. We don't plan on changing much, just keeping things exactly as they are.
