Meenu Beauty Parlour

Meenu Beauty Parlour is located in Abids, inside the Gulshan Plaza. We are at Door No 5-58-595, specifically in Flat 201 on the second floor. The building is on Mubarak Bazaar Lane. If you know where Hollywood Footwear is, we are right opposite that. It’s a very old part of Hyderabad. The lanes are narrow and always full of people shopping. I’ve spent many years in this flat. It’s not a huge place, but it’s ours. The stairs can be a bit steep for some, but most of our ladies don't mind. We have curtains on the windows to keep the privacy. Inside, it smells like hairspray and talcum powder most of the time. I started this because I liked the idea of having a space for women to just be themselves. We hear a lot of stories here. Weddings, kids, mother-in-laws, everything gets discussed. I don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. Word of mouth is how we survived all these years in Abids. The plumbing is a bit moody sometimes, and the lights flicker if the weather is bad, but it’s a sturdy old building. We use simple tools and products that we know work well. It’s just me and a couple of girls helping out. We keep the tea kettle going in the back room for those long afternoons. It gets really busy during the festive season, and we often stay late to finish up.
