Lakshmi Dresses

Lakshmi Dresses is located on Maruthi Veedhi in Secunderabad, which is part of the bigger Hyderabad area. Maruthi Veedhi is one of those streets that feels like it’s been there forever. Our shop is a small place where we keep all sorts of dresses stacked up. It is usually a bit of a squeeze when we get more than three people inside at once. We spend a lot of time just moving boxes around and trying to find space for new stock. The street outside is narrow, so you hear everything that happens. There is a lot of shouting from the vendors and the sound of scooters squeezing past each other. We open up early and stay late most days. Secunderabad has a different feel than the rest of the city, maybe a bit more old-fashioned. We don't have fancy lights or a big glass storefront. It’s just a wooden counter and racks of clothes. We do a lot of our work by hand, like tagging items or writing out receipts in a notebook. The fan on the ceiling makes a clicking sound that we’ve stopped noticing. Sometimes friends stop by for a chat and a cup of tea. It is just a local business trying to get through the week. We see the same people walking their kids to school or going to the temple nearby. It’s a good spot to be, even if it gets a bit crowded. We usually sweep the front step twice a day. There is a little stray cat that hangs around the entrance sometimes too.
