Ethnic Gear

Our shop is at 7 4 19/A in Sri Vani Colony, which is part of the Ferozguda area. Ethnic Gear is where we put together various types of traditional clothing for everyday use. It’s a lot of sewing machines humming and piles of fabric sitting on the tables waiting to be cut. We don’t have a big window display or anything like those shops in the mall. Most of the people who come to us are local folks who know where we are tucked away in the colony. We spend a lot of time looking at patterns and making sure the stitching is decent enough. It’s a lot of sitting and focused work, which can be hard on the eyes and the back after a few hours. We’ve got heaps of thread in every color you can imagine, and sometimes it gets tangled up. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to take a break until it comes back on, but that’s just how it is around here. We aren't a big factory, just a small group of people who know how to use a needle and thread. We don't go for any of that high-fashion talk or marketing. We just make clothes that people can actually wear for their daily lives or for a local wedding. It’s a bit cramped in here with all the cloth, but we know our way around.
