Dulhans Beauty Parlour & Training Centre

Being right by the Charminar bus stop means it’s always pretty loud outside with the buses idling and people shouting to each other. Our shop is located at 20-4-15 on the Main Road, right in the thick of things in Hyderabad. It’s a busy spot, and we’ve been here long enough that most of the people who live and work around Charminar know who we are. The parlour part of the business is always moving, but we also have the training centre side where local girls come to learn the basics of the trade. They learn how to do threadwork, hair styling, and bridal makeup. It gets a bit cramped in here when there are a lot of students and customers at the same time. You’ll see combs, spray bottles, and rollers sitting on almost every flat surface. We spend a lot of our time teaching the younger ones how to hold the scissors correctly or how to mix the henna so it turns out right. It’s a lot of physical work, and honestly, sometimes our tea gets cold on the counter before we even get a chance to drink it. Since we’re so close to the bus stop, people sometimes pop their heads in just to ask for directions or to wait inside for a minute if it starts raining. The building is older, and the paint might be peeling a little in the corners, but it works for us. We just keep our heads down and work.
