Diviya Spa Saloon

Our little spot, Diviya Spa Saloon, is tucked away in Kandaswamy Lane over in Sultan Bazar. If you know Kapadia Market, you know how crowded it gets around here. We are at 4-3-722/1/19, which is a bit of a mouthful to say, but people find us eventually. The lane is narrow, so there is always noise from people walking by and scooters trying to squeeze through. Inside, we have tried to make it feel a bit quieter than the street outside. We have some shelves where we keep the towels and the different bottles we use for the hair and skin stuff. The floor is tile, which is good because it’s easy to clean up after a long day. We mostly stay busy in the afternoons when people are out doing their shopping in Koti and decide they need a break. Sometimes the tea guy from the corner brings us glasses of chai when we have a gap between customers. We don't have a big sign out front, just the name, but locals know where the door is. The chairs are old but they are comfortable enough for a quick sit. It gets really hot in the summer, so we keep the ceiling fan running on high all day long. It makes a clicking sound that we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We just do our work and go home when the market starts to close up.
