If you are walking down Station Road in Nampally, you will eventually see our place at 5-4-435/1. It is a very crowded spot, especially with the railway station being right there. There are always people rushing around and you can hear the noise of the trains in the distance all day long. Dilip started this whole thing many years ago. We handle a lot of different supplies that people in the neighborhood need. The shop itself is not very large at all, so we have to stack everything really high on the wooden shelves. Sometimes finding one specific item for a customer takes us a minute. It is mostly a family-run operation. We open up quite early because the foot traffic starts as soon as the first morning trains arrive at the station. We have seen this whole neighborhood change quite a bit over the decades. New shops are always opening up and the old ones are closing down. We just stay here and keep doing our own thing. We do not have a website or anything modern like that. People just know where we are located. If someone needs a specific part or supply, they just call us or walk right in. The tea guy comes by twice a day and that is usually when we take our only real break. It is not a fancy life by any means, but it keeps us very busy. Dealing with the Nampally crowds can be a headache, but it’s part of it.
