Beena Furnitures

If you know Station Road in Nampally, you know it's always packed. Beena Furnitures is right there at Shop No. 5-4-425/5. We’ve seen the trains come and go from the station for years. It's a loud area, lots of people rushing to catch their rides or looking for a bargain. The shop isn't huge, but we pack it full. Sometimes it’s hard to walk between the pieces without bumping into a table or a chair leg. We spend a lot of time dusting things off because of the street soot. It’s just part of being on such a busy road. I’ve been working here long enough that I don't even hear the horns anymore. We open up pretty early and stay till late, mostly because there’s always someone walking by who wants to take a look. The floor is a bit uneven in the back corner, but it doesn't bother us. We’ve got a small fan that keeps us from melting in the summer heat, though it makes a bit of a rattling sound. People stop by just to chat sometimes, or to ask for directions to the station. We like being part of the neighborhood. It’s a real place with real people. No fancy lights or big signs, just Beena Furnitures right there on the corner. We keep it simple and just try to get through the day like everyone else in Nampally.
