Chirang Rural Women Agricultural Producer Company Limited

It might seem a bit strange to find Chirang Rural Women Agricultural Producer Company Limited based in a flat in Hyderabad, but that is where we are. We are at Flat-504 in the Tirumala Arcade, which is in the Lines Town Colony part of Old Bownpally. The work we do is actually connected to the rural women back in the Chirang area, but this office is where we handle all the logistics and the business side of things. Hyderabad is a big city and it’s very different from the farms, but we need this space to make sure the agricultural products get to the right places. The flat is usually full of papers and some samples of what the women are producing. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or working on the computer to keep everything organized. It’s a small team here in the office. We don’t have a fancy storefront or anything like that because we are a producer company, not a retail shop. Sometimes the elevator in the building is slow and we have to carry boxes up and down, but we make it work. It is an honest living and we are just trying to bridge the gap between the rural growers and the bigger markets. It is mostly about the coordination and making sure the farmers get a fair shake. We’ve been in this colony for a while now and the neighbors know us. It is just a regular office for regular work.
