Chilakhana Farmers Producer Company Limited is right there in Chilakhana village. Our office is on Plot Number 200, and we get our mail through the Tufanganj post office. It’s a local operation run by people who actually live and work in the village. We started this company to help the small farmers around here get a better footing. We aren't some big city firm; we are just your neighbors. You can find us at the plot near the main village road. It gets busy during the morning hours when people are heading out to the fields. We talk about seeds and how to get our products to the bigger markets without losing money. It’s hard work, and things don't always go perfectly, but we stay at it. We don't have a receptionist or fancy furniture. Usually, there’s just a couple of us sitting around a table with some tea, talking about the crops. Tufanganj is a good area for farming, and we want to keep it that way. We don't go in for promotional talk or making big promises.
