Burhani Hardware Suppliers is located at 3, Shobana Colony in Balanagar. It is a bit different being in a colony rather than on a main highway, but it works out well for the local residents. Most people come to us when they have a leak at home or need some hardware for a DIY project they started on the weekend. The shop is tucked away a bit, so it is a little quieter than the big stores in the city center. We keep a variety of things like nuts, bolts, washers, and all the small bits that people always seem to lose. It takes a lot of time to keep everything sorted in those little plastic bins. My hands are usually a bit greasy from handling the metal parts, but that's just the trade. We don't have any employees, it’s just a family-run thing. We open up around nine in the morning and stay until the evening. Sometimes a neighbor will knock after we've closed because they really need a fuse or a tap washer, and we usually help them out if we're still around. The shop floor is concrete and stays quite cool even when it is hot outside. We don't bother with fancy flyers or anything like that. People in Shobana Colony just know we are here at number three. It’s a simple business and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
