Our office is in the Tulip Block of Green Meadows, over in Vanastalipuram. We are on the third floor, Flat 306. It’s a pretty quiet residential area, which is nice when you’re trying to focus on work. We deal with things related to soil. It’s one of those jobs where you realize how important the ground under your feet actually is. We spend a lot of time talking about nutrients and how to keep land healthy. It’s not exactly glamorous work, and we often have dirt under our fingernails if we’ve just come back from a site. The office is just a regular room with a few tables and some computers. We don’t have a receptionist or a coffee machine that does anything fancy. We just make our own tea and get to work. Vanastalipuram is a bit far out for some people, but we like it here. It feels more grounded than being in the middle of the high-rise buildings downtown. We’ve been operating from this flat for some time now. Some of the neighbors probably wonder what we’re doing with all our soil samples and bags. We just try to help folks get more out of their land without ruining it. It’s a slow process, but we don’t mind. We’re just regular people trying to do something useful for the environment.
