Olive's Boutique

Getting up to Mount Banjara every day is a bit of a climb, but I like being on Road No. 12. Our little spot at A-3 is tucked away in a corner of B Hills. It is not a fancy glass-front store like you see in the big malls, just a regular space where we keep our stuff. I spend my mornings checking the hangers and making sure nothing has gotten dusty overnight. The sunlight hits the front window just right around ten o’clock in the morning. Sometimes the traffic on the main road gets loud, but inside the shop, it stays pretty calm. People come in looking for very specific things, and I try to remember what they liked the last time they visited. It is a small operation here. My desk is usually covered in scraps of fabric or old notebooks where I jot down different sizes and notes. I have lived around this area for a long time, so I know most of the people who walk past the door. We do not really do any big advertisements. Most folks just see the sign outside or hear about us from a neighbor. It is hard work keeping up with what people want to wear these days. My hands are always busy with something, whether it is steaming a dress or fixing a loose button. Sometimes I sit by the door when it is slow and watch the cars go by. It is a nice shop.
