Balaji Textiles

Balaji Textiles is tucked away in Kokarwadi inside the Deepak Complex. If you are coming from Bhagwan Devi Hospital we are just around the corner. The complex is a bit of a maze if you haven't been here before but once you find us it’s quite cozy. We have rolls of fabric and various textiles piled up everywhere. The smell of new cloth is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It is mostly me and a helper managing the stock and cutting fabric for people who come in. We don't have a website or a big social media page. We just rely on the people who walk through Deepak Complex every day. Sometimes we get people coming in after a visit to the hospital looking for something specific and we do our best to find it in the stacks. It gets hot in the afternoons so we keep the big shutters half-down to stay cool. We've had this spot for a while and the neighbors are all friendly. We share snacks and complain about the electricity bills together. It’s a simple life selling cloth and making sure the shop stays organized enough to find the measuring tape when we need it. We don't use any fancy sales tactics. If someone likes a piece of cloth they buy it and that is that.
