Sarika Dresses

Sarika Dresses is over in the Shobana Complex, Shop No. 3-57/1, in Balanagar. It’s a busy little complex with people coming and going for all sorts of things. We have a lot of racks squeezed into our space. Most days, I’m busy moving things around to make room for new arrivals. We have clothes for kids and adults, mostly regular stuff people wear every day. The mirrors are a bit old and the carpet has seen better days, but the clothes are good and people seem to like them. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. I just put a few things on the mannequins out front so people see what’s new when they walk to the other shops in the complex. Balanagar gets very busy in the evenings, so that’s when we stay open late. My daughter helps me out on the weekends when the crowd is bigger and everyone wants to try things on at once. We talk to the customers about their families and what they need the dresses for. It’s a friendly place. We don't use a computer for the bills; we just write them out by hand in a receipt book. Sometimes the electricity cuts off in the complex and we have to use candles or torches for a bit until it comes back. It’s just a normal shop in a normal neighborhood. We try to keep the prices fair so people keep coming back when they need something new for a festival.
