Amul Ice Cream

You can find our Amul Ice Cream shop at Plot No.42 in New Vasavi Nagar. This is in the Karkhana area. It’s a quiet residential neighborhood for the most part. We decided to open here because there weren't many places to get a cold treat nearby. The shop is part of our house, so we are always around. We open the shutters early to let some air in. The stock arrives a couple of times a week in a big refrigerated van. We have to move fast to get everything into our freezers before it starts to soften. It’s a bit of a workout. We have a small table outside where people can sit and talk. Mostly it's families from the nearby plots. They come over after dinner when the sun goes down. We don't have a big neon sign or anything like that. Just a small board out front. The floor is cement, and we sweep it every few hours. We don't have any fancy machines, just the standard freezers. Sometimes we run out of chocolate because everyone wants it. We try to order more, but sometimes the distributor is out too. We just tell people to try something else. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town. We just like having people stop by. It feels good to see the same kids growing up over the years. We plan on staying here for a long time.
